ϳԹ

Our Outdoor education program at ϳԹ is closely tied to our school’s Wellbeing Framework. Camps are designed to embed a positive school culture, grow relationships, and provide new experiences that are both fun and which build resilience in a supportive environment.

Junior School camps

Camps are introduced to our Year 3 and 4 students as an overnight sleepover on the school grounds; the first taste of the joys of camp.

Year 5 and 6 students enjoy a three day camp, plus Year 6 travel to Canberra to visit Parliament House and other significant sites.

Students in Years 3 to 6 may also attend a wide range of extension and enrichment camps through the year for creative writing, maths and science.

Secondary School camps

Students in Years 7 and 8 attend a three day, year-based camp at the end of Term 1.

Students in Years 9 and 10 select from a range of interest-based camps such as surfing, Masterchef and adventure.

Year 12 attend a retreat at the very start of their final year of education. This is a time for bonding within the year group, but also for setting goals and expectations for the upcoming year.

Students in Years 7 to 10 may also attend a wide range of extension and enrichment camps throughout the year.

Duke of Edinburgh

ϳԹ offers students in Years 9 to 11 the opportunity to complete the Duke of Edinburgh International Award. It is a non-competitive, self-development program that encourages to set and achieve goals at a level appropriate to their needs and aspirations.

There are three Award levels and each requires participants to complete four sections: Voluntary Service, Skills, Physical Recreation and Adventurous Journey. With the assistance of ϳԹ's Award Leader, students can design their own program around personal passions and interests.

Other opportunities

Students in Years 7 to 10 are invited to attend Mustard Camp. Mustard is our weekly student-led discipleship group, and Mustard Camp is an opportunity to learn more about God, encourage students in their faith and to build friendships with students from other year groups.

Students in Year 11 are invited to apply to attend the Yarrabah Trip. This is an incredible opportunity to engage in cross-cultural ministry and share the good news of Jesus with the people of Yarrabah.

Our bi-annual Music Tour to the NSW south coast is a wonderful opportunity for our students to use their gifts to serve others, especially those who may not have access to musical performances on a regular occasion. This tour is for students in Secondary School who are part of our bands and ensembles.

The annual Year 10 and 11 Ski Trip is always a highlight on the calendar. Students and staff travel to Thredbo for a weekend of skiing and snowboarding.

From time to time, ϳԹ organises overseas trips to enhance the learning opportunities of our students. In the past, our students have gone to Indonesia for a science expedition. In 2023 our senior students travelled to Japan for a wonderful cross-cultural experience.
